Camino 1.6 - A Mozilla browser specially created for Mac ( Softonic > Mac: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> Looking for an alternative to Apple's Safari or Mozilla's Firefox? Then you might just take the path to Camino.

This browser evolved from being a side project of Mozilla to turning out into a full fledged open source browser for Mac. Built over the Mozilla architecture, it functions in a very similar way as Firefox, is as secure, yet offers a different sort of interface.

Camino is fairly lightweight, at least I have never seen it use up as much memory as Firefox, and loads pages fairly quickly. The search box is fully customizable, so you can add, remove and reorder all the search engines your own way. The open source browser also offers very solid integration of Apple's Keychain technology for storing all your passwords and certificate.

Obviously the real drawback to Camino, and one that might turn off users is that, unlike Firefox, it doesn't offer addons. Like the Mozilla browser it will detect feeds for you and offers tabbed browsing.

If you're looking for a lightweight, fast and secure browser then Camino will suit you. Be aware that it doesn't handle extensions though.

LimeWire 4.16.7 - Share files on the net ( Softonic > Mac: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> Limewire, one of the world's most popular peer-to-peer filesharing applications, has received a lawsuit from the RIAA, who are demanding $115 million in damages, claiming the application promotes the infringement of copyright. Similar applications like Grokster and Kazaa have been forced to go legal and speculation goes as to when Limewire will have to buckle and pay up. The existence of the popular P2P application is not under threat, but if you haven't given it a try yet, here's just what makes it a standout program.

In terms of file sharing, Limewire is the cream of the crop, offering the essential peer-to- peer tools in what is probably the friendliest interface of applications in its class. Beginners will appreciate the search bar, which allows you to select the type of file you're looking for, video, image, audio, or program. Limewire has a "what's new" button to check out what popular files users have recently exchanged. We also enjoyed the direct connect option. If you know the IP address of one of your friends, type it in the box and Limewire will browse that user's files. This is a quick way of sharing files with someone else and can come in handy when working on a project and exchanging documents. The only little snag we have with direct connect is that it doesn't let you enter the username, much simpler than looking for your friend's IP address.

Downloading with Limewire is very intuitive. After you've searched and found the file you are looking for, double-click on it to start the downloading process. The speed of your download depends firstly on the quality of your connection (broadband is a minimum), if you've correctly opened your router's ports and whether you're downloading a popular file or not. We would like to point out the effort that Limewire takes to make itself accessible to beginners. Not only does a tip pop up every time you launch the application, the help option also leads you to Limewire's support centre, FAQs and a forum to get in contact with other users.

The lawsuit carried out by the RIAA is all the more surprising because of the measures Limewire takes to keep you in the realms of legality. If you decide to download Limewire from its website, you will first have to agree you will not use it for copyright infringement. When you're configuring the application, you can set content filters, to avoid downloading files that copyright owners do not want you to share. To avoid embarrassing situations, make sure you tick the "block adult content" box, which will filter out any pornographic files from your searches.

The best way of checking the quality of the audio or video you're downloading is via Limewire's mini player. It's fairly basic and to par with the players you find in similar filesharing applications, but we appreciated the way it was integrated in the program.

If there's one thing that we're still expecting from the Limewire team, it's that it finally decides to jump on the BitTorrent bandwagon. Torrents are the way forward when it comes to peer to peer file sharing because of the speed, the security and freshness of downloads. Large files like movies or complete seasons of TV series are much easier to download via BitTorrent. We were also annoyed by the "buy the PRO version" window that popped up every time we started Limewire.

For its wealth of possibilities and huge base of users, (more than 4 million simultaneously on the Gnutella network) we encourage you to give Limewire a test drive. Because of the controversial nature of the application, you should always make sure that you aren't using Limewire for illegal activities like copyright infringement. However don't be scared off by the legality issue. Limewire, like most P2P applications is one of the most exciting possibilities that the internet gives us. It would be a shame not to give it a try. You should also check out Frostwire, the not-for-profit project of the Limewire development team.

5px 5px;'> I'd really encourage Mac users to install OnyX. This maintenance program is completely free and will help you keep your Mac clean and in perfect running order.

The first time you run OnyX it'll verify S.M.A.R.T status of your disk to prevent failure and analyze the structure of your volume. Every action is well explained and OnyX even features a thorough help guide.

OnyX will let you set a number of parameters all over your Mac including Dock, Exposé, iTunes and Spotlight. It is most effective at fully cleaning your files including system, user and fonts. You'll have to make sure all other applications are closed to allow it to function properly though. The automation section in OnyX will let you maintain, rebuild and clean your drive.

Obviously, some of these operations will take some time to perform, however you should see some notable improvements in the way your Mac runs afterwards.

OnyX is a very handy application to have around. It'll ensure your Mac is always clean and tidy. And best of all, it's completely free!

SonicMood 4.8.5 - Mood enhancing OS X software ( Softonic > Mac: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> SonicMood can play chimes and nature sounds to improve your mood and make you relax.

To some, applications like SonicMood are nothing more than mystical and to others they're a great way to relax. SonicMood features 26 different chimes which can be set in random patterns, creating relaxing and soft harmonies. You can adjust the sound settings and even change the type of sound is played back among the collection of nature sounds made available like crickets, rainfall or thunder. SonicMood also lets you import any sound file or use the built-in Midi recorder to record instruments.

As the developer suggests, SonicMood's interface is very similar to that of iTunes in that you are shown the list of sounds, have the different controls at the top and your playlists on the left of the interface. The only thing we didn't like about the GUI was having multiple windows for every element. The screen can get a little crowded.

Apart from that minor issue, SonicMood is an enjoyable program to relax and listen to nature sounds on your Mac.

Flash Decompiler Trillix 3.0.12.3425 - Convert SWF to FLA on Mac ( Softonic > Mac: ...

5px 5px;'> This application is extremely handy to extract objects from a SWF or simply to convert a SWF into FLA. The program offers both basic and advanced modes. When testing it we found it converts SWF files fairly quickly. The progress bar lets you know how far you've gone in the operation anyways. The advanced settings for converting include detecting motion tweens, actionscript, symbols, and you can specify what timeline, page or library elements you want to include.

In the extracting feature you can select specifically what sort of object you wish to obtain from the SWF, such as video, images or fonts. The application can convert them into FLA or a more native file type, like MP3 for sounds. The extracted files are all a saved in a well organized folder, with sub folders for each object type.

Obviously, there's always a risk of losing a few elements when converting or extracting from SWF to FLA. This program gets it right the majority of the time and the sleek interface divides both extracting and converting features well.

Resco Explorer 2008 4.01.4 - The file explorer and manager for your Palm ( Softonic > ...

5px 5px;'> I've always found viewing, managing and sorting files on a Palm something of a tedious and cumbersome process. We've all grown accustomed to using Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder to browse files, and small screen operating systems rarely make it as easy.

Resco Explorer changes all that though, providing an altogether more powerful and effective solution to the default Palm file browser. For starters, it provides a more intuitive way of viewing your files, with a file manager that displays your data and applications in a two-paned tree structure view. You can dig down or shift up through directories using the clear, accessible arrow icons.

One of the crucial features of Resco Explorer is the fact that it lets you launch applications with a single tap, something not usually seen on a Palm file manager. It also makes it easier to edit and customise applications associated with certain file extensions.

Another boon of the software is the way it handles compressed files for you. Thanks to an icon at the bottom of the screen, you can view the contents of zipped files just as you would if they were in an ordinary folder, along with the ability to uncompress them.

With a dazzling array of other features including an an image viewer, drag-and-drop file movement and secure storage, Resco File Explorer really is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to managing files on your handheld. If anything, the sheer range of features, toolbar items and settings may put off new owners of a Palm device.

But for those who have grown tired of the simplistic file navigation on the Palm, Resco Explorer is a gift from on high.

One of the best things the program does is to allow you to add photos to your messaging contacts, meaning that your friends' and family's mugshots will brighten up your Treo's SMS centre.

Another neat function is the ability to set any MP3 audio file as your incoming message tone, helping you to impress/annoy fellow passengers when a new SMS comes in on the bus. You can also use the app to block messages from a certain number or schedule a message to be sent at a certain time - features that you don't see in many PDAs. All in all PictureSMS is a great way to spruce up your texting.

Flock 1.1.2 - The social browser for blog addicts ( Softonic > Mac: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> Flock is a browser for blogging and social network addicts. Based on the Mozilla infrastructure, it offers many features found in Firefox like tabbed browsing, quick RSS feed aggregation and customizable toolbars. Thanks to the web clipboard, you can copy any image or text you find on the net. Favorite links can be saved with tags and you can customize your own world, where you showcase your favorite sites, feeds and media. This brings us to one of the main features of Flock, the media bar, placed at the top of the browser. This tool lets you search and view any sort of media from sites like YouTube, Facebook or Flickr.

However the real strength of Flock comes in its social networking integration. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Xanga, Magnolia and more can be opened up from the "accounts and services" sidebar. Thanks to the people sidebar, you'll be able to quickly see all your friends from your different networks. Flock also offers up a blog editor, from which you can write up all your posts. News junkies will also like the RSS reader, also accessible from the sidebar.

While we were impressed with all the major improvements found in this new release of Flock, we felt that the sidebar was probably a bit overused. RSS feeds, social networks, favorites, and the web clipboard all open up in the sidebar, meaning you can't have them on all at once. The blog editor is a nice touch, but it's a shame that it doesn't allow you to upload images to your blog.

If your high on social networks, Flock is definitely the browser for you.

Astraware Sudoku 1.40 - Excellent version of the popular puzzler ( Softonic > Palm ...

5px 5px;'> I don't know when or where it was invented, but somehow Sudoku has come from nowhere to become one of the most popular ways to while away a bus journey. What's more, you don't even need a puzzle book to play it because there are so many versions of the game available for mobile devices.

Astraware's take on the format is very impressive and is actually one of the most well-executed I've seen anywhere. Obviously the scenario is the same as always - you have a 9 x 9 grid with a series of nine boxes and nine cells. You need to fill up all the cells with the numbers one to nine without repeating a number in any row, column or box.

But what's great about this game is the loving attention that's been given to its presentation. When you first start out, you're given an animated introduction to Sudoku, explaining all the rules in a succinct manner. You can then choose to start a new puzzle from the default ones built into the game, create your own puzzle, or download one from the Astraware site (you'll need to register for the full version to do this).

There are six difficulty levels to choose from, ranging from 'Beginner' to 'Diabolical,' which lets you develop your skills at your own pace. The in-game options are just as impressive. You can add pencilmarks to assist you, get hints, change the display and set the level of assistance.

Graphically, the game is tastefully presented and the board is very clear. There's even a clock and a battery indicator at the top to remind you not to lose track of things in the real world!

All in all, one of the best mobile-based Sudoku games you'll find.

eWallet 6.1 - Your important info, secure & convenient in a digital wallet ...

5px 5px;'> Highly customisable personal data store

The virtual wallet market is popular with software developers. Nearly all PDA users make use of some sort of virtual wallet program to store their credit card numbers, email passwords or other personal data. eWallet, already regarded by most as the leader in its field has improved on its already excellent reputation with version 4, a feature packed virtual wallet application which is near perfect.

Whatever information you want to keep safe, eWallet is designed to help you entering and retrieving your data with the least hassle possible. Like most virtual wallet programs, it includes a range of categories to choose from as well as a 'custom' category option. However, because eWallet's range of categories is so expansive (check out the 'internet settings' option with space for IP addresses, default gateways and more), you may find that you never even need to create a custom category.

When you create a new card (a card can represent an actual credit card or any other record), you're immediately given a range of customisation options which exceed the offerings of other programs. Change the colour of your card, add a custom .ico icon file, or even a sound effect to make each entry unique and easily recognisable. Cards can be created in the main set of your data store or in unlimited levels of subcategories, offering a level of organisation which is simply unavailable in other applications.

eWallet's level of security is also impressive. With frequent requests for your passcode, you can be sure that no one can simply pick up your PDA and gain access to your cards. eWallet offers 256-bit encryption where some of its competitors still don't encrypt your data at all. It also offers you the option to set password hints on individual items, a handy and popular data-protection technique often employed on websites. With top level stability, eWallet can be relied on to stand up to the job, even if you use your virtual wallet application frequently.

As you may be able to tell, we were pretty happy with this version of eWallet! It has so few flaws that the biggest issue we had was with the non-alphabetic listing of icons in the card-editing screen – hardly a critical issue. Synchronisation via SyncPro is actually far better than using ActiveSync, given that it doesn't need to upload/download the entire database each time it syncs: SyncPro is capable of only updating the latest changes you've made, saving you precious time.

eWallet performs its core role with simplicity and ease of use and then offers you a higher level of customisation than any of its competitors. It's not only the best in its category but one of the few absolute 'must have' programs for Palm, Pocket PC and Windows Smartphones. With practically no negative points, it just can't get a higher recommendation!

Personality Psychology Pro 1.42 - Analyze your personality and your friends' mental health ...

5px 5px;'> It seems that any magazine you pick up these days will have half a dozen personality tests in it. Wouldn't it be good if instead of having to buy all these magazines to test different aspects of your personality you could do them all in one hit?

Well, that's basically what Personality Pyschology Pro offers. The application is divided into a series of tests based around five different areas of personality, namely: Introversion/Extraversion, Emotional Stability, Mastery/Sympathy, Sexuality, and Social/Political Attitudes. Each of these areas is broken down into a series of tests covering different the different aspects that affect that personality trait. So, for instance, Introversion/Extraversion is divided into tests for Activity, Sociability, Risk-Taking, Impulsiveness, Expressiveness, Reflectiveness and Responsibility.

Before you start you need to create a new profile for yourself by entering your name and date of birth (although this doesn't seem to have any bearing on the results). You can then progress through each test, which normally contain about 30 questions each. As with most personality tests, a statement is displayed and you must click Yes, No, or Maybe depending on whether it is true of you or not. One of the things I liked about these tests is that you can jump backwards and forwards through them and change your answers once you've had time to really reflect on them.

Once you've completed a test, you'll be shown a chart outlining the degree to which you exhibit a particular personality trait, which also displays the 'normal' level. More detailed analysis of what your results actually mean is also available from this menu.

This is a very comprehensive personality testing solution which analyses virtually every area of the way you are. The only problem is, it will take you an age to complete all the tests and it can become a little monotonous after a while.

Nevertheless, if you want a complete tool for measuring your personality, Personality Psychology Pro certainly beats thumbing through endless magazine pages.

Messenger for Mac 7.0.0 - Microsoft's MSN Messenger for Mac ( Softonic > Mac: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> The highly awaited new version of Messenger for Mac is finally out. While it keeps a slightly similar interface and same set of features, Messenger for Mac comes with some extra features.

You will still have to sign in using your hotmail or Windows Live account. Once installed, you'll see Microsoft Messenger 7 offers a slightly updated interface, yet overall very similar to that of version6. Messenger now offers Bonjour support, so you can detect and connect with users on the same local network as you. Features like sending files, displaying a picture or emoticons are unchanged. You can change your display name and add a personal message just by clicking on them. One new feature is that you can give nicknames to your friends. Just click on their display name and start typing. We also liked the search feature, which is really handy to quickly find a contact or email address.

It's obvious that this upgrade is aimed at corporate users as they get the most significant updates though. The highly touted audio and video feature, with which you can have videoconferences with your contacts, is only available to them. The same goes with detailed presence information, as you'll need a version of Office Communications Server 2007 to use it.

Corporate users will love the new features in Messenger for Mac 7, like Bonjour Support, detailed presence information and especially audio and video. Personal users will find barely anything different from version 6.

JazzyDraw 1.0 - Draw pretty pictures on your Palm ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> I always enjoyed art at school and have since developed an interest in digital illustration. Being out and about as much as I am though, it's difficult for me to find the time to sit on the computer and get creative.

Step forward JazzyDraw, an illustration app that allows you to set your creative juices loose on your Palm device. The program is armed with a few tools that let you scribble straight onto the page in a number of fun ways.

Beware that you'll need to install the plua.prc file that comes in the zipped download in order to get the program to work. Also beware that JazzyDraw demands a fair amount of memory (around 4Mb) in order to run properly, so you may need to shut down some apps or delete files before you start to free up space.

Once you've got going, it's quite good fun. You can play around with a number of easily-selectable tools, selecting the fill colour, line properties, drawing shapes, zooming, tinting, and more. While seasoned digital artists may be disappointed by the lack of advanced drawing tools, this is a good one for kids.

You won't create any masterpieces, but JazzyDraw is OK for doodling while you're sat on the bus.

Beach Volleyball 1.0 - Get down the beach ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> Fancy some fun in the sun? Then get down the beach for a little game of volleyball. This is a limited download as you only get to battle out one point at a time but it gives you an idea of what to expect in the real version.

You can play as girl or boy on the white sand with palm trees either side and the sea just a tiptoe away. The graphics are very good for a mobile game and the babes and hunks are realistic and animate nicely. The sound effects are pretty decent too - there's lots of grunting when you play the ball, and you can hear the waves lapping the shore in the background.

In terms of gameplay, Beach Volleyball is a bit tricky to get into. I found it hard to judge where the ball is going due to the way perspective is represented and it took a while to score my first point. This was made more annoying by the fact that this demo only allows you to play one point per game. The difficulty issue is resolved somewhat by an 'auto-hit' mode where your character automatically thwacks the ball when you're near it.

There are three modes of difficulty in the game, as well as a high scores table, so there's certainly plenty of life in this one once you've mastered how to play it.

Overall though, this beach volleyball game provides a great way to inject some sunshine into your life on a drab day.

iPhoneImitation 1.2 D - Turn your Palm into an iPhone! ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> We'd all love to have an iPhone but unfortunately not all of us have the cash to stump up for one. Don't worry though, because if you've got a Palm device you can at least pretend to have one of Apple's great inventions.

You might think that the Palm OS is a little antiquated now and to some degree you'd be right, but using iPhoneImitation you can disguise that fact with an interface that is remarkably true to Apple's new wonder device.

Once installed, the program embeds itself on your device and can be launched with an icon. The alternative Startup screen looks very similar to the iPhone, with some lovely animation. In fact all of the menu items are animated with a series of plush icons that replace the rather drab default Palm ones.

Another added bonus in this software package is the Pocket Tunes skin that adds iPod Touch-style control buttons to the MP3 player. It all looks very nice, but be warned that it does have a tendancy to drain battery power so I'd be wary about setting the program as your default launcher.

Nevertheless, this software provides a realistic simulation of the iPhone on your Palm.

Vehicle Manager 3.5 - Manage information about your cars ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> If you're a car owner then I'm sure you'll know all about the importance of keeping all the records and information about your vehicle up-to-date.

In my experience though stuff like insurance, maintenance and registration details tend to get scattered around the house or the garage and you can never find this information when you need it. Wouldn't it be great if you could centralize all of the important info about your car and have it close to hand at all times. Well, now you can, thanks to Vehicle Manager for Palm.

The application is designed to help you record all manner of details about your vehicle on your handheld device. It's split into four different categories, represented by tabs at the top of the interface, namely: Details, Insurance, Dealer and Notes. The way this is presented makes it incredibly easy to both view and enter information.

However, the real beauty of the app is the sheer amount of data it can record, including the name of the car, vehicle ID number, insurance policy number along with coverage and renewal date info, repair and maintenance history, and much, much more. You can even use it to track your fuel consumption history. Vehicle Manager could also be very useful for car dealers, as it allows you to record and manage details about multiple vehicles.

This really is a comprehensive digital log book for your car and it covers pretty much every piece of information you'll need in an easy-to-handle manner. It would've been nice to see an option to insert pictures of the car, but I can forgive the developer for that.

If you have a car and a Palm, this is an essential download.

Although it can't help with the first of these little problems, RingCare Combo is able to add a little variety to your mobile phone by allowing you to apply MP3s and MIDI audio to your ringtones.

There are two compotents to the program: the first works under Windows and lets you prepare audio files in MP3, WAV or Ogg format ready to be deployed on your Treo. The Smartphone component searches the internal memory and extension cards for usable audio. You can then assign this music to your device's default ringtone and even apply it to individual contacts or groups.

SmartCare delivers an intuitive platform for adding some diversity to your Treo's ringer, helping you to personalise your ringtones with ease.

Par 72 Golf 2.01 - Can you break par in this golf challenge? ( Softonic > Palm OS: ...

Click the club, watch the wind, click for power and click for direction. The problem is Par 72 Golf doesn't come with a direction button. So you just click the power and strike the ball.

That said, it's still as difficult to judge as any golf game and yet again I was rubbish at it. Some graphics on the greens might have helped my putting as it was hit and hope most of the way but the graphics are good and as with all golf games it's difficult to stop playing.

Metro 5.6.6 - Metro Guide Of Over 300 Cities Worldwide ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> Palm PDA users are often on the move and this explains the large number of applications geared towards helping travellers wherever they go. One of the most successful travel programs available for handheld computers is this free guide to the subway systems in over 300 cities worldwide.

Métro has a very basic interface which can be a little tricky to read if you haven't taken a look at the user guide. Once used to the controls, though, the average user will have no further trouble with this program. Use it to plan journeys, guide you between subway and railway stations, or to help you find places of interest such as museums or government buildings.

For such a small application, it holds a surprising amount of details and with frequent updates, you don't need to worry about out-of-date information.

Drop Off 1.00 - Test your reflexes with this ball-rolling game ( Softonic > Palm OS: ...

5px 5px;'> It's amazing how the simple things can sometimes be the most enjoyable, and Drop Off is testament to that.

The game has nothing in the way of graphics or sound, or even color and yet it's virtually impossible to put down. Your mission in this one is to roll a ball down a series of platforms by dropping it through the hole in each one.

Sounds easy right? Well, it's not because the platforms are scrolling upwards all the time and if your ball gets caught on a platform when it reaches the top of the screen then it's game over for you. To make matters worse, the scrolling gets faster and faster th longer you keep going until you're pretty much just relying on luck and reflexes rather than any conscious skill.

At first I thought it was easy, and managed to rack up a whopping 100,000 points on my first go, but it then took me ages after this to replicate it. And that's the beauty of this game - you'll keep coming back time and again to try and conquer your own personal best and this becomes equally infuriating and mesmerizing.

The graphics are awful, there's no sound and nothing in the way of options, yet Drop Off will have you hooked for hours.

Clock 1.2 - Digital and analog alarm clocks ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> While many mobile devices these days have graphically rich clock and calendar displays, the Palm is somewhat lacking in this area.

Clock is a small application that adds a simple analog and digital clock display to your device. Both the analog and digital displays occupy the full screen and you can switch easily between the two by tapping the stylus, or selecting the display from the menu.

Although faces are very clear, they're not exactly what you'd call exciting. The analog clock only uses three colors and is quite pixelated. The digital clock is nice and bold but only comes in black and white and doesn't display miliseconds.

The program also features an alarm which is easy to set and comes with a choice of four different tones. You also get a volume control, which can be set using a slider. There's only one alarm though, and I would've liked to have seen an option for setting multiple alarms.

If you want a clear, visible clock display for your Palm, this app delivers that. It's just a shame it isn't a little more customizable.

Brian's Brain 1.0.7 - Simulate life on your Palm device ( Softonic > Palm OS: Latest ...

5px 5px;'> Want to simulate life in an artificial way? I don't mean like in the Sims or Second Life, but in terms of the reproduction and distribution of neurons.

Well, that's what Brian's Brain does, or at least what it purports to do, because after using the program for 30 times or so I still don't really have a clue what I'm doing. The basic premise is that it's supposed to generate random distributions of artificial neurons on a grid. Depending on how these neurons are distributed, they can either multiply generation after generation or die out completely.

It sounds kinda cool, and if you have a scientific mind I'm sure it is, but personally I couldn't really work out what was happening. Perhaps if the developer had chosen to include some kind of help or instructions I would've got more out of it. Ultimately though, the process of marking little colored blocks on a grid without any visible changes isn't something that's going to keep me gripped for any length of time. There's also a bug where if you click on the menu arrow, a countdown starts and you can't do anything else in the program.

If you have the patience and brain-power to persist with it, I'm sure Brian's Brain is interesting, but for me, I found it confusing and boring.

Best Tarot Pro 3.2 - Read the future with the ancient art of Tarot ( Softonic > Palm ...

5px 5px;'> I've had a few tarot readings before and while I'm not sure they were completely accurate (I never became a millionaire, as one reading promised) I still keep an open mind about it.

Best Tarot Pro lets you check what's in store for you through the medium of cards. The basic premise of the program is to enter a few details about yourself, think of a situation or problems you want some answers to, then 'choose' a series of 10 cards that will reveal the outcome.

Unfortunately the process of selecting a card isn't exactly in your hands. In fact, you just click on the 'Next' arrow and a card is automatically displayed on screen for you. I'm not sure whether tarot experts would agree that this is a valid way of reading your fortune, but even if it's just a bit of fun, I would have liked the option to select cards myself, or at least have a graphical representation of the cards that are being drawn.

On the plus side, you do get good descriptions of what the cards represent and the program does a good job of explaining how this impacts on the problem at hand. The annoying thing with this demo is that it cuts out before the crucial tenth card is drawn and doesn't provide the overall assessment, so you need to pay for the full version for this.

While it's validity as a fortune-telling medium is questionable, Best Tarot Pro still provides an interesting diversion and you'll learn quite a bit about how tarot cards work.

Ball Rush Aqua 1.2 - Smash through the levels, destroy the boss ( Softonic > Palm OS: ...

5px 5px;'> This is a remake of an arcade classic and it has all the speed, explosions, sound effects and music of the original. In fact there's so much happening at once on the screen that you might start screaming as your head spins from your shoulders. The objective is simple. It's a classic 'Space Invaders' style shooter that sees you man a spacecraft with which you need to blast through layers of coloured blocks. As you shoot special blocks you get new weapons and more points. But you don't have to clear all the squares off the screen, just make your way through to the top and then defeat the boss.

The game comes with 28 levels, 13 bonuses, 13 different block types including unpredictable sensors and teleports, thermonuclear bombs and air-cushions. So while it's fast and frenetic it's also very unpredictable. The only guarantee is that your eyes will be watering by the end.

Frantic arcade-style spaceship shooter with loads of levels, bonuses and weapons.

Agendus Standard Edition 12.07 - Powerful personal information manager for Palm PDAs ...

5px 5px;'> When I was younger (in fact, it still applies now) I always wanted to have James Bond's Miss Moneypenny as my secretary. As I grow older, I realize this is becoming less and less likely to happen. However, I've just stumbled across a mobile app that will give me almost the next best thing.

Agendus is an excellent personal information manager designed to make you more you a more productive human being through your Palm. The application combines the different standard applications such as address book, notepad, tasks and email, and supports data synchronization with Microsoft Outlook.

It's incredible to be able to manage and access so much information from one place, and it's certainly much more efficient than the Palm operating system. The program centralizes a huge range of tasks, including managing contacts, appointments, tasks, notes, SMS and emails.

There's a whole bunch of stuff you can do with this information using Agendus, such as displaying data in daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly views, grouping, editing and deleting. A powerful built-in full-text search ensures that whatever you need is always close at hand. Everything is very simple to synchronize too, using ActiveSync.

Thanks to an intuitive centralized interface and some slick integration with Outlook, this really is a product you can't afford to be without if you have a busy personal or professional life.

Accenter 1.11 - Add accents and special characters when using Graffiti ( Softonic > ...

5px 5px;'> Being of English tongue, I don't really have to face the challenge of entering accents or special characters when I'm typing.

From what I've heard from foreign friends and colleagues though, it's not always that easy, especially if you're trying to enter them using Palm's Graffiti feature, because it simply doesn't recognize them.

Accenter is designed to change all that, and allows you to enter a variety of accents used in languages such as French, Spanish and Italian, as well as giving you access to special characters such as the German umlaut and Polish and Portuguese characters.

Thankfully, adding accents and special characters with Accenter is a very painless process. As soon as you type a letter the program will pop up a selection of transparent boxes displaying possible accents. You can select an accent simply by pressing the corresponding button on your PDA's controller. If you don't want to use an accent you just keep typing.

It's a very slick system, but the constant pop-ups do become annoying after a while, so I'd recommend you disable the application when you're writing documents in English.

Nevertheless, if you regularly type in a language with accents or special characters, this is an essential Palm download.
